Friends and Family!
This week’s newsletter is a bit different.
Today is World Sickle Cell Day, and I’m doing something I’ve never done before.
For the first time, I sat down to share the story of my journey with sickle cell—from childhood challenges to near-death crises, and what it really means to live purposefully in the face of chronic illness.
The interview is called “Resilient By Design”, and it’s now live on YouTube. You can watch it here: Resilient by Design Interview
In this video, I sit down with my friend Imran Richards to reflect on my journey living with sickle cell disease—from the painful episodes of my childhood to the clarity and conviction I’ve found in adulthood.
I share openly about what it’s like to live with this condition every day, how I’ve learned to find purpose through the pain, and how I’ve wrestled with and reconciled my faith in the process. This isn’t just a story about survival—it’s about living intentionally, leading with impact, and using my voice to push for the advocacy and support our community needs.
I’m sharing this conversation with the hope that it will inspire, inform, and ignite change.
I’d love for you to take sometime and watch it- if it resonates, share it with someone who needs a reminder that they were built to rise!
Thanks for being part of this journey with me.
Very inspiring.
